Day Smoke makeup inspired by Too Faced Smoky eye palette

Do you remember the Smoky Eye palette by Too Faced that I reviewed few days ago? I promised that I would come back with a makeup inspired by this  palette, so you can see in the photos below what I’ve came up with.

This look is called Day Smoke and is one of the three makeup looks proposed by the makeup artists of Too Faced. Inside this palette are 3 cards with makeup tips to help you obtain the best smoky eye look.

I chose the Day Smoke makeup today because I had to go for the second day at Cosmetic Beauty Hair  – international exhibition of products and equipment for cosmetology, body care and hairdressing – and I wanted something chic and classy, wearable in the day time but also with some mystery inside.

I usually use lots of brown and bronzy shades in my makeup and these are some beautiful colors. They are very easy to apply on the lid and above the crease. I didn’t use the 2 double-sided brush/sponge applicators because I preferred to use my own makeup brushes, which I’m use to.

The fawn and bronze eyeshadows are not to shimmery which is great for a day smoky eye look. I’m still wearing this makeup right now and the colors are still vibrant and the makeup is intact. They stay very well on the lid, but maybe because I cheated applying the Too Faced shadow insurance first (don’t tell me that you don’t do it all the time :) ).

This look was very easy to make, maybe because I’m used to brown shades, but I’m kind of nervous when I think about the Fashion Smoke look that I will do in the next days, because includes green and blue eyeshadows that I never use in my makeup.

You can get this look too by sweeping Cream from brow to lashes, after press Fawn onto lid and above the crease. Blend Bronze into the crease & lower lashes and you are almost over. For this Day Smoke look I’ve used 2 coats of Lancome Hypnose Mascara.

Accessorize-Black-Bow

Maybe you are wondering (laughing) about the ribbon with the black big bow on my head. I bought this ribbon ( 12$) from an accessory shop in the same day with the Too Faced Smoky Eye palette and thought it will look cute on me ( but now I’m not so sure). I like the big black bow cause it’s contrasting why my blonde hair and white skin (maybe I look to emo).  The bow is from satin and it’s very shiny. What do you think? You like it? You can say your impressions even if is not your style and you would never wear it :) .

    • Hello andrei yarabi, Marina, Gio and Renee! Thank you all for your nice comments and I’m happy that you’ve enjoyed this look. I will do another smoky eye look very soon so don’t forget to stop by and check it out.

  3. Your skin looks beautiful in that picture. I guess your La Praire skin care regime is working nicely for you. I love headbands and the big black bow suits you IMO.

  4. Hi Tavia,

Your skin is just all kinds of gorgeous!! Unfortunately for me, my skin is kind of drying up — happens at every seasonal change — and I’m almost always near tears (kinda shallow, huh!? lol)

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I think your smokey eye look really suits you!! What kind of brush did you use, if you don’t mind me asking?

    Take Care!
    Mary

    • I don’t use any fancy brushes, some of the are no name :) but for this look I’ve used 2 brushes from Sephora (22 all over shadow and 13 rounded crease) and 2 brushes from Alicia da Silva but they don’t have names of numbers :)
