Astral All Over Moisturizer – Preview & Photos

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

A few months ago I received Astral All Over Moisturizer in both Original and Light & Creamy formulas and I wanted to give them a good try before I would post my reviews.

As we get older, our skin needs a different kind of care. More nourishing. More protective. And simpler. This means the moisturiser you used in your 20s might not be right for you once you’re in your 40s and beyond. Rich, intensely moisturising Astral Original and Astral Light & Creamy have everything mature and changing skin needs daily from a moisturiser, all over, all in one pot.

Availability

Now @astral-cream.co.uk, Boots.com, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Superdrug and Wilkinson’s

Both Astral Original and Light & Creamy come in three pot sizes:

  • 50 ml – £ 1.52 – “the handbag pot”, which is perfect for on-the-go indulgence
  • 200 ml – £ 4.28 – ideal for keeping around the home
  • 500 ml – £ 8.16 – providing great value for money in a pot that lasts longer

Find out more about these creams right after the jump.

Astral Original is a rich, intensely hydrating moisturizer that has been proven in extensive clinical trials to hydrate and protect the skin on both the hands and face. One of the main ingredients is Lanolin, a rich natural moisturiser which binds water to itself, locking moisture in while still allowing the skin to breathe. It’s naturally hypoallergenic and easily absorbed. Another important ingredient is Glycerine that attracts water into the epidermis, increasing its moisture content. It’s thought of as having a Natural Moisturising Factor for smoother-looking skin.

My Opinion

A full review is coming up but to give you my quick impression about Astral Original I would say it works better on mature and very dry skin providing the nourishment it needs. For me which I have a combination sensitive skin type I found it a little to rich to be used on my complexion. Another way I used this moisturizer was as a make-up remover and an after sun lotion. I really gave it good try this summer, especially when I went at the sea and I spent the entire day in the sun. I applied Astral Original all over my body and my skin felt instantly moisturized, hydrated and healthy without having any problems of sun burn or itching.

During the days I spend at the sea I tested Astral Original on my complexion and it worked better because my skin was getting a little bit dry from the sun, even though I used a special face cream with SPF.

I received the 200 ml jar and I still have a lot of product left. The Original formula works better for me as a body moisturizer and a make-up remover but if you have dry or mature skin it should work on your complexion as well.

Astral Light & Creamy all-over moisturiser is intensely hydrating but it has a lighter formulation, milder fragrance and is enriched with soothing Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. It’s specially formulated to support the changing needs of different skin types – even sensitive skin.

My Opinion

The new light & creamy formula worked better for me than the Original one because it’s specially formulated for sensitive skin, like mine. It felt lighter and was absorbed faster without feeling greasy. My skin felt hydrated right away and my skin tone was improved. Because it contains Vitamin E it can help reduce the appearance of age spots, fade scars and stretch marks, and helps maintain skin’s natural moisture levels.

I like to use this also as a body moisturizer because it has a gentle fragrance and a light formula. During summer when my skin was more exposed to the sun I used the Original formula, but now this one works better for my body. The price is also affordable for any jar size.

I hope you enjoyed this preview and find it useful. If you have tried Astral All Over Moisturizers before I would be happy to know how it worked for you. 🙂
