Bobbi Brown Jet Long-Wear Eye Pencil Review, Swatches, Photos

Hello beauties!

Bobbi Brown Jet (01) Long-Wear Eye Pencil is just one of my new makeup products, that I’ve been playing with in the last couple of days. This dark black is just one of the six permanent shades of Long-Wear Eye Pencil, a product that has quickly become customer’s favorite.

Bobbi Brown Jet (01) Long-Wear Eye Pencil (£18.50 / $26.00 / 109.00 Lei for .045 oz / 1.3 g)  is officially described as blackest black. It’s indeed a deep black, very rich, intense and pigmented.

It delivers an opaque color coverage in just one stroke. The formula is creamy but dense (I would preferred it just a little bit more creamy) and glides well on the skin without pulling or tugging. Swatched on my arm and applied on the lid are two totally different things and that’s why I’m saying that when I lined my lash line it didn’t glide so effortlessly and I would prefer it to feel it silky and smooth.

On my waterline it applied fairly well but since not many eye liner pencils can work for me, this one started showing signs of fading after 10 minutes. The color faded considerably but without being messy.

It delivers a rich, opaque color from the first application so I didn’t feel the need to go back and forth over my lash line. It can be smudged and blended if you should desire but since it sets quite fast (under 15 seconds) you should do one eye at the time and then work the color.

Bobbi says the pencil’s formula is waterproof, smudge and transfer resistant and indeed I got hours on end wear with this formula on my lash line (totally different wear time on my waterline).

The pencil includes a sharpener to ensure pencil-point precision, definitely a handy tool which worked well and had minimum waste. I tested the sharpener with other eye pencils as well and did a great job, the only downsize for me is not having a cap so it can hold on the residue for a while. I’m not used to sharpeners that don’t have a cap included, as I don’t consider them travel friendly and I wouldn’t carry one with me in my makeup bag in case I would need to sharpen my pencil anywhere else but home.

The formula is indeed long lasting and I had about 11 hours wear without smudging. I know others say they have about 8 hours wear on the waterline as well, but is not my case (it happens to me with most eye pencils) since the color considerably faded within 10 minutes but it did leave a very thin black line which did manage to last for about 2 more hours without smudging.

I have to admit that at first I didn’t love this eyeliner, but it has since become my favorite. I don’t use Jet Black, but Mahogany is my go to. I also love the dark Chocolate that was part of a LE kit. I wish Bobbi would make it part of the permanent line. I also don’t put anything on my waterline as my eyes are so dry and sensitive. Enjoy it.
