Clinique Superdefense CC Cream SPF 30 Light/ Medium – Review, Photos & Swatches

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

During the summer I don’t wear so much makeup like I do in the cold season and since my all time favorite foundation is off the market for good I had to look for a new replacement. This is how I met Clinique Superdefense CC Cream SPF 30 which was sent to me in the Light Medium shade by a PR for testing and review purposes.

Clinique Superdefense CC Cream SPF 30 (119.00 Lei/ $35.00/ €35.00 for 40 ml/ 1.4 fl oz) in light/medium shade is suitable for moderately fair skin tones like me but I found it just a bit darker for me. I’ve been hiding from sun all summer long and since I haven’t taken my vacation yet I can say I have an extremely white skin now at the end of summer. 🙂

As a fan of foundations with sheer to medium coverage I had to try this product and I was amazed right from the start with its lightweight formula. It glided on my face effortlessly, being very smooth and easy blendable and without leaving any lines behind when I applied it with my fingers. I have a combination skin which turns into a oily skin type during the hot months so I liked that Clinique CC cream is oil-free and also has SPF 30.

The medium color coverage was perfect for me as I don’t have any zits, acne or other problems to conceal but it is said that it can instantly correct any redness, dullness and sallowness. It gave me a flawless and natural look while it make my skin tone look radiant, fresh and glowing. It didn’t settle into my lines or pores and I didn’t felt any dryness while I was wearing this CC cream all day long. I did read others bloggers reviews which were having dry to normal skin types and some of them mentioned that after a few hours they begin feeling their face a bit dry and by the end of the day they felt like all the moisture was gone so they found this product to be more suitable for combinations to oily skin types like me.

I admit I feel great wearing the Clinique Superdefense CC Cream as I didn’t experience any moisture loss or dehydration and I didn’t felt my skin to be dry at any time, on the contrary after 5-6 hours my complexion began to shine. I always apply translucent powder and set my makeup with a setting spray but I still keep in my purse some oil control papers especially during summer months.

I really enjoyed wearing and testing this product and hopefully after I’ll get some tan I will become best friends with this shade. I like the medium coverage and lightweight texture so if you have a bad face day this product probably won’t be able to fully conceal any breakouts, dark circles or acne scars so you can use it as a base and apply your foundation on top of it.

The only thing I’m not to fond about is the packaging which is not see-through so I can’t estimate how much more product is left inside. My favorite recipients are transparent bottles with a pump and over the years I really come to appreciate them and find them easy to use and to work with. 🙂
