Illamasqua Individual Bronzer in Burnish – Review, Photos, Swatches

by Tavia

Hey girls!

I’ve got Illamasqua Individual Bronzer from Body Electrics Summer 2010 Makeup Collection a few months ago but as I said in my preview post my skin was too white at that time to use this product.

So at the end of the summer I finally gave it a try but I guess I’m still too white for the Individual Bronzer in Burnish. To be honest I never use bronzers anyway because my skin color is too pale and I prefer using a pink or peach blush from time to time.

I would definitely recommend this if you have at least a medium skin tone because otherwise the Burnish shade which is actually a golden bronze would look to dark on you.

Illamasqua Individual Bronzer it’s available on Illamasqua counters but also online @Illamasqua.com for the price of £ 20.00. I’ve used it two times on two of my makeup looks that I’ve posted previously so if you want you can check some of those photos here:

Shape, define, tempt and tease. Illamasqua Bronzer contains crushed pearl powder, for a smooth, even finish that leaves skin begging to be caressed. Apply to face and body for a beautiful bronzed glow that will last until dawn.

If it wasn’t for the color incompatibility I would said this is a great bronzer. It’s long lasting, doesn’t have orange undertones and give a really nice touch to the cheeks. It really feels soft on the skin and give a nice healthy glow (to dark for me though).

I also love the packaging, black and elegant like we always see at Illamasqua’s product but inside the compact you will notice a mirror very useful if you want to reapply the Bronzer or retouch your makeup.

Here are the photos with swatches!

First swatch was taken after I’ve applied foundation and as you can see the color is darker and more pigmented.

Now the second photo was taken on my bare skin without using any primer or foundation. As you can see the color is very sheer.

For those of you interested in what ingredients have been used I’ve taken this photo:

Check out more photos!

I hope this review was fun and helpful for you. 🙂 Do you like to use bronzers? Which one is your favorite?

Hi Tavia, I really love bronzers, I can make my face thinner when I feel fat using it! This one seems so pigmented…really wanted to try!

This bronzer looks very finely milled and nice. I use bronzers for subtle contouring sometimes. whew glad this doesn’t have orange undertones, I hate orange-y bronzers with a passion.

Illamasqua is so highly pigmented that you couldn’t start with skin that was too pale.

Sounds like a great bronzer and so pigmented! But I’m afraid the color’s too dark for me too.
