Kinetics Nano Turtle Basic – Daily Protection and Base Coat – Review, Photos, Swatches

by Tavia

Hi everyone!

Nano Turtle Basic Daily Protection and Base Coat is part of the Kinetics Nano Nail Treatments Collection for Fall 2010 (preview + photos). I’ve started using Nano Turtle after 5 days of using Nano Rhino Soft & Peeling Nail Treatment (review).

I invite you to take a look first at my review about Nano Rhino treatment so you can see how my nails looked like before I start using any of the four Kinetics Nano Treatments.

Nano Turtle Basic comes in a 15 ml (0.5 fl oz) bottle and it can be used as a daily protection and base coat. It’s transparent so it won’t modify the color of your nails in any way.

Check out my post about Kinetics country availability and online shops to know if these products are available in your country and also to find out the prices, because they are different in each country. Nano Turtle Basic is not really a nail treatment but only your daily protective base coat. It should be used before you apply your nail polish and especially if you choose to apply a dark nail color.

I don’t like applying a base coat because I’m too lazy 🙂 and I don’t like to wait for the base coat to try and then wait some more for every nail polish coat and finally for the top coat. That takes me about 10 min and I usually hate to wait. I just don’t have the patience for that.

Most of times I rather give my nails a few days break and apply only a nail treatment every 2-3 days. 🙂

Here is how to use Nano Turtle:

  • Brush one coat and let dry and after apply your nail color.
  • To use as a natural nail polish you have to apply two coats.

Nano Turtle Basic – one coat

Nano Turtle Basic – two coats

My nails are still a little bit yellow but you can see they are growing healthy. The base coat dries out almost instantly so you can apply your favorite nail polish right away. It has a light consistency and the application went out smoothly.

I reapplied Nano Turtle after 2 days and leave it on for another 3 days. Here are the photos I’ve taken after 5 days.

As you can see from the photos, my nails are growing healthy, no exfoliation but since Turtle is only a base coat and not a nail treatment you can’t expect to strengthen your nails or make that yellow color go away. It will protect your nails and prevent them from turning into yellow if you apply it before using a dark nail color.

Check the list with the ingredients.

I hope this review was helpful for you and not boring. 🙂 I would love to know if you wear a base coat everytime prior applying your nail polish or you rather use a nail treatment from time to time. 🙂

Hi Sherri! As I said in the article, I apply the treatment and worn it for 2 days and after I removed it and reapplied two fresh coats and kept it for another 3 days. I wrote the instructions in this post. 🙂

The bottle is adorable. I always use a base coat before applying nail polishes. I hate to wait for it to dry but it’s better than having yellow nails. This one sounds lovely.

Gosh, did this product make your nails so gorgeous? If so, it’s worth every penny! But I’m sure you’re a lucky girl too, a natural! 😉

Gio is right, the bottle suits the name, it’s simply adorable! :*
