MAX FACTOR Diva Pink Nail Polish from the Colour Effect Summer 2010 Collection – Review & Swatches

by Tavia

Hi everyone,

Finally I’m starting reviewing products again. Today I have in mind some of the products from Max Factor Colour Effect Summer 2010 collection, and I’m going to start my review series with one of their mini nail polishes.

The color that I received to review is Diva Pink, a more beautiful color on the nails then in the bottle. I admit at first when I saw the small bottle I was not to impressed with the color, but once I had it on my nails I kind of like it. It’s one of the new 12 colors suggested by Max Factor for this summer.

Max Factor – Diva Pink nail polish – 2 coats

I kind of like the mini bottle too, but as I’m sure you may imagine this won’t last you so long. Anyway if you have more than enough polishes already I think having a mini nail polish is great idea, especially if you are going on vacation. The colors is a beautiful a grenadine pink, opaque and very shiny. The first photo was taken after I’ve applied 2 coats of Diva Pink and it has an incredible shine, like a mirror reflection.

The application went out smoothly, the brush is small but gives a good application. If you have small nails you will like this mini nail polish because the brush doesn’t pick up too much product but if you have longer nails you will have to dip the brush a few times in the bottle before you can layer a nice color.

Two coats of Diva Pink were enough to get this result, the polish is opaque so I don’t think you need to layer 3 coats, but it’s OK if you do. I still wanted to apply a top coat, just to preserve the polish and to see how many days it will last.

As you can see the  polish is even more shiny now. I really like this effect of wet polish and I can even dear to say it kind of looks like Shellac.

Now let’s take a look and see what happens after 4 days.

Diva Pink nail polish 4 days later

Here I was, on my fourth day of wearing beautiful Diva Pink color on my nails when I had to take this photo for the last part of my review. As pretty as this color is you can see is not that long lasting. The polish chipped too soon and I couldn’t wear it anymore so take a look at the next photo and see for yourself.

I’ve applied a layer of top coat to all my nails, so I can’t show you which will be the result if you don’t apply the top coat. I’m sure it won’t last even 4 days. The color is still OK, not so much shine though but I just can’t stand seeing my chipped ends.

If you enjoyed this review or have any comments, I would be happy to read them. 🙂

It’s a shame the polish doesn’t last longer, the color is stunning!

Hi Gio! I felt so sad when I saw the polish starts to chip….this polish is probably one of the most shiny I’ve tried so far.

So sorry to see how soon this one chipped! I have to add that I’m glad to see someone post the true length of time this brand of polish lasted. I’ve just tried Fantasy Fire and love it; anxiously awaiting Dazzling Blue and Diva Pink by post. It is likely to be a long wait as I’m in the US. Thanks for posting this color – Fantasy Fire is everywhere and it was terrific to see another of the Max Effect line!
