Max Factor Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara – Preview & Photos

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

As I said, Max Factor is busy this year with the release of all kind of mascaras. The most expected one is Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara (info & promo photos) which will be available in summer 2012 only in some countries (check out my info post to see if your country was selected to receive this mascara).

The price is yet unknown but I can tell you the new mascara will be available in 4 shades, each one recommended for a specific eye color. The formula has delicate reflective particles that catch light and reflect it back into the eye as you move and enhances and brightens the natural eye color.

I received by Max Factor Romania all the 4 shades to test and review and naturally I started with Black Ruby shade which is the one recommended for my green eyes.

Color range:

  • Black Sapphire for Blue Eyes
  • Black Ruby for Green Eyes
  • Black Gold for Hazel Eyes
  • Black Pearl for Brown Eyes

This is not the original packaging of Max Factor Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara, I just received these as testers but I posted photos with the original packaging in the presentation article a few days ago.

I tried only one mascara so far but they all have similar brushes and I noticed a natural lash volume, not too dramatic and not too thick, just slightly curved lashes for everyday look.

Since I have green eyes I worn this mascara first (for 2 times already) and soon I’m ready to post my review post.

Green eyes contain a medium amount of melanin, therefore we want to subtly brighten and enhance the green by complimenting it; this is done by using green’s contrasting colour of  red to compliment the green.

This mascara was created to enhance the natural color of blue eyes.

Blue Eyes are the lightest eye colour and contain the least melanin therefore we want to brighten and enhance the appearance of the blue colour; this is done by using an adjacent blue tone with the colour spectrum.

If you have hazel eyes then you should choose this mascara.

Hazel eyes also contain a medium amount of melanin but they sit closer to the lightest part of the colour spectrum than green eyes, therefore we want to subtly brighten, enhance and compliment the colour. This is done by using the adjacent colour of gold to bring out the warmth in the eye.

Finally this is the one that will sell out very fast since most women have brown eyes.

Brown eyes contain the most melanin and therefore sit at the darker edges of the colour spectrum, so we want to subtly brighten and lighten the eye; this is done by using silver to lighten.

Now I’m waiting for your opinion about this new type of mascara. Will you buy this revolutionary mascara?

I wonder if Cover Girl will now come out with something similar.
