Orly Green With Envy Nail Lacquer – Review, Swatches & Long-Lasting Test

Hello pretties!

This spring I’m in the mood for green, fresh paint-like green, turquoise and aquatic colors but this doesn’t mean I gave up wearing my favorite shade: pink. Since I gave you a quick preview of Orly Green With Envy nail lacquer about two weeks ago I decided to test it along with the other Orly lacquers that I received from Orly Romania. Even though this shade is not part of the newest collection is still deserved my nails attention for a couple of days and now I’m willing to share my review with you lovelies and tell you how this nail polish behaved for 4 days.

Orly Green With Envy nail lacquer (18 ml/ 0.6 fl oz – 45.00 Lei/ $8.50) is a fresh paint creme green (even though it looks more like a turquoise green in the photos) with a light creamy formula, almost watery like. It looks extremely sheer in one coat and I needed three coats to build up the color and have an opaque color with a glossy finish. The application was a bit problematic because the polish was a bit streaky when I applied the first two coats and a by the third coat because it was so thick it also pulled a bit on the edges. If you want a lighter green you definitely stop after the second layer but for a full color effect I did the third coat even though I’m not comfortable wearing nail polishes like this. On five of my nails I also applied  a layer of Orly 3-in-1 Top Coat for a super glossy finish and protection. Before starting painting my nails with Green With Envy I used Orly Rubberized Lacquer Gripping Base Coat.

I had to be patient for almost 10 to 15 minutes so the polish could dry very well. I worn the color for 4 days before removing it and while on the nails which received top coat’s protection the color preserved a bit of its glossiness on the other nails it looked more mattyfied due to soap, lotions and creams. After 4 days wear I had visible tip wear and the polish started chipping a bit on the edges on the nails wearing top coat while the others were even more chipped.

I hope this review was fun and helpful for you lovelies. Green With Envy is indeed a beautiful color but its formula thickens by the third coat when you can obtain a vibrant and opaque green color. What are your thoughts regarding this shade? 🙂
