Review: Make Up For Ever All Mat – Face Matifying Primer -Photos and Details

by Tavia

Hola chicas!

I’ve bought the Make Up For Ever All Mat a couple a months ago when exhibition with beauty products was hosted in my city. All of the products prices were reduced by 20-25% so I went into a shopping spree.

One of the products that I bought was this face matifying primer based on a oil-free powdered gel gel that is colorless and extremely comfortable to wear. I already had the Lancome La Base Pro (read my review) makeup primer but I wanted to try something from MUFE.

I have an oily complexion so a matifying primer is a must for me and I assure you that the effects of using a face primer before you apply the foundation are really amazing.

If you are interested to know more about this Face Matifying Primer keep reading this review (more photos, price, details).

The package

As you can see from the photos, it comes packed into a black box and the product is found in a 30 ml transparent bottle. The cap is also transparent and you can see the pump, which makes it more easy to use it. The transparent bottle is one of the things that I like because I can see how much product I have left and the pump makes the application to be more hygienic. I know that some primers comes in a tube (disadvantage that you can’t see how much product is left inside) and you usually have to unscrew the cap and squeeze the tube to get some product.

The texture

Its gel texture based on silicone has a velvety quality to reinforce the gel’s softness. As you can see from the close-up photo is transparent and it feels very soft on your face. It also contains a formula that will reduce the appearance of “peach fuzz” skin.

The product

I have only good things to say about this face matifying primer because it controls not only shiny skin (and trust me I can shine a lot) but also variation in foundation color over time. The sebum excess is absorbed, leaving the skin perfectly matt and soft to the touch.

Sometimes I like it to use it alone, instead of my day cream (when I’m not wearing foundation) only because it gives my complexion a healthy look, it softness the skin instantly and mattifyes it without a hint of shine.

My foundation last longer on my face without fading and even after a couple of hours my complexion is still matt and has a fresh look.

I also like the pump because it gives just the right amount of product, usually I press it two times and it’s enough to cover all my face. I’ve noticed that after I apply the All Mat matifying primer the makeup is easier to apply and last longer.

How to use it

I simply apply the base with my fingers on the whole face (make sure to wash before) before applying makeup. As I said before, I have an oily type of skin so I need to apply the base all over my face, but if you have a combined skin then you need to apply the base only on your T-zone (nose, forehead, chin).

The price

You can buy the 30 ml bottle for only 45 $.

I hope you enjoyed my review and I will love to hear your opinions. What kind of makeup primer are you using and let me know how it works for you.

I will soon come back with a review on the Make Up For Ever HD foundation (yeah, I wanted to have the whole set) which I bought a week ago (you can read my Make Up For Ever experience here) and let you know how the two products work together.

Question

In the meantime I want to ask you girls, how do you apply your foundation. Do you like to apply it with a brush, sponge or you are simply using your fingers?

I always have a hard time finding products that control the oiliness around my T-zone, and I will definitely be giving this a try! Thanks for the review 🙂

Hi Rebecca! I’m happy that you found useful my review. As I said this primer really managed to keep my oiliness under control for a whole day and it’s also great if you want to wear it separately.

Thanks for the review. I’m always looking for products that control shine and this look very interesting. I may give it a try when I run out of my Pupa primer.

Hi Gio! You are very welcome and I’m happy that this post helped you. Well I never tried the Pupa primer, how is it? Do you have an oily skin type like mine? I’m always looking for these kind of products that will stop my face to be so shiny 🙂
