It’s been months since I’ve been wearing the edgy color of MAC Fallen Angel Retro Matte Lipcolour on my lips. This is one of the four new Retro Matte Lipcolour shades (swatches / photos) launching later this month as part of MAC Make-up Art Cosmetics Collection (official info / photos). I have to admit that it took me a while to get comfortable wearing this color, because it looks so dark and mysterious on my lips…totally different that the sweetness of pink shades that I was used to. I was surprised to receive so many compliments right from the first time I wore this shade and I guess people who have seen me then thought I’d totally changed my makeup style. After more than two months of wearing this shade I can say that we’ve become close friends and I often reach for it and pair it with a light, casual and nude makeup look. I bet you’ve already seen my on Instagram wearing this shade, but keep on reading for the entire review and lip swatches.
U.S. Launch Date – 19 January 2017 online @maccosmetics and select MAC Locations
MAC Fallen Angel Retro Matte Lipcolour ( $21.00 U.S. / $25.00 CAD) is officially described as a deep berry with a matte finish. I see it as dark wine berry with red undertones and a deep matte finish.
Like many out there, I was into MAC Holiday 2016 Mariah Carey Collection (info, photos) from the moment I saw the sneak peek photos. With a bling bling, glittery silver packaging like this and nude colors, I knew right away I had so save some money. I already told you how I got to buy only a few products from this collection and what adventure that was. 🙂 Like any makeup junkie of MAC fan, I was definitely swiped away by what I name “one of the most appropriate holiday packaging” and that gorgeous butterfly packaging on the lipsticks. This collection was sold out in a bling of an eye in most countries, and the star products didn’t take more than a few days to disappear off counters even here in Romania. MAC Dahhlinggg lipstick was one of the two lip colors I had to check from my wishlist so I was extremely happy that I could find it available (as the last piece) a few days after the collection launched. None of the products from this collection benefit from MUA discount, so you’ll just have to get it at full price, no matter what.
MAC Dahhlinggg! Lipstick ($20.00 / 99.00 Lei for 0.10 oz.) is officially described as a pinky peach with a cremesheen finish. I personally see it as a light pinky-peach with slightly warm undertones and a natural sheen. On me it had semi-opaque color coverage which didn’t apply quite even on my lips. On some parts it looked streaky, showing on and settling into lip lines. Continue Reading
Guerlain Spring 2017 Happy Glow Collection (official info / photos) will hit the counters pretty soon, so I thought I’d finally give you a closer look, a couple of swatches and my first impression overall. I was so anxious to post about this collection, since last month when I got to see it in person, but as I told you on Instagram when I posted the video, I was asked to post pone the article until January 2017. This is a capsule collection which pays tribute to Meteorites 30th Anniversary, so it includes only a couple of products. As you might have read on my blog, there’s a second Guerlain makeup collection launching later in spring. So if you’re craving for more take a first look at Guerlain Spring 2017 La Petite Robe Noire Collection (info, photos).

Many will agree that MAC Holiday 2016 Mariah Carey Collection was one of the most desired makeup collections of this season. For me personally it was an adventure to purchase these few products because most of the collection was sold out when I got to the counters. I had my wish list ready months before this collection launched, but so it came to pass that the launch date didn’t match my salary date. 🙂 So basically when I was ready to start shopping, I had to call every MAC counter in my city and ask what products they still had available…unfortunately only these three came home with me. I admit I wanted the Loose Powder and another lipstick shades, but they were among the first products to fly off counters. MAC Mariah Carey Collection has definitely got everyone’s attention with its bling-bling sparkling packaging and the beautiful butterfly pattern on the lipstick or don’t even get me started on that gorgeous Extra Dimension Skinfinish.

Urban Decay presents for holiday 2016, Full Frontal Reloaded Vice Lipstick set featuring five colorful lipstick shades and the multi purpose Ultimate Ozone primer pencil. My addiction for Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks is already known to you so if this set hits Romanian counters as well, I’ll be buying it as I have none of these shades in my collection.
