Chanel Rose Petale Stylo Eyeshadow Review, Swatches, Photos

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

I purchased Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow in No.177 Rose Petale a while ago and I finally get to review it after wearing it a couple of times since. The reason behind the purchase was that this is a limited edition shade and obviously being a pink one made all the difference for me. I’m actually wearing it even now as I’m writing this review and I will post the look along with the makeup tutorial tomorrow on the blog.

Chanel Rose Petale (177) Stylo Eyeshadow ($34.00 / £23.00 for 0.05 oz) is a light baby rose with cool undertones and a frosty-metallic finish. It has a good pigmentation, medium color coverage which can easily be build up to full opacity in two-three layers.

I like the water-infused formula that feels so smooth and silky when glides across the skin, and most of all I love the cooling sensation I’m feeling when the eyeshadow hits the lid. If you decide to use a brush to apply the product then you will hardly feel the cooling sensation. Applying the Stylo Eyeshadow with a flat brush will give you more precision and a higher color coverage.

Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow is one of the fewest twist-up, cream-based eyeshadows from my collection and one of those that I’m planning to use quite frequently when applying pink toned eyeshadows.

I prefer using it as a makeup base to intensify the powder eyeshadow but I like to use it on its own as well. For example today I applied MustaeV Lovable Eyeshadow on top of Chanel Rose Petale Stylo Eyeshadow and they were a perfect match. I’ve been wearing this makeup for a little over 12 hours (it has been a long day) and I still don’t see signs of fading or creasing.

Wore on its own, I start to see signs of creasing after eight hours wear. I like how lightweight the formula feels and how smoothly the pen glides across my lid.  I just feel that this will be one my go to summer products, especially due to the cooling formula which gives me a fresh sensation. I admit the formula has just a little bit amount of slip but it will dry down quickly .
