Claudia Schiffer Quad Eye Shadow Pretzel Shades Review, Swatches, Photos

by Tavia

Hello pretties!

Claudia Schiffer Quad Eye Shadow Pretzel Shades is one of the three quads from Artdeco X Claudia Schiffer Makeup Collection. I bought this quad along with other Claudia Schiffer Makeup products over a month ago. Not long after that I received more stuff from this same collection and I gave you a sneak peek on Instagram. I’m sorry I didn’t have time to review that much from this collection so far, you know the tech problems of my blog, but I’m catching up on those reviews. You can READ HERE reviews and see sneak peeks and swatches of everything related to Claudia Schiffer Makeup line.

Claudia Schiffer Quad Eye Shadow Pretzel Shades (£29.50 / €29.50 / $40.00 for 4.5 g / 0.15 oz) is an eyeshadow palette featuring four toasty brown shades. This is the kind of eyeshadow quad that has the right combination of shades to create beautiful day or night makeup looks.

I only took this quad with me in my last vacation and honestly I didn’t need any other shades. I had a vacation by the sea so these browns were enough for day or night look.

Let’s talk first about the packaging, which has slightly luxurious notes due to the golden edges of the quad. The top is a pastel pink which gives a feminine touch without being to girly. I personally like it a lot…I know I’m obsessed with pink, but this color was rightfully chosen. The compact has a magnetic closer and also features a mirror inside, pretty handy when you are on the go.

To me the entire packaging looks chic, feminine and romantic, is pretty sturdy, easy to hold and use. I don’t get that luxurious feeling but it’s similar to high-end brands.

Claudia Schiffer Quad Eye Shadow Pretzel Shades Review

The eyeshadow colors don’t have individual names so I’ll review them in a classic, clockwise order.

Eyeshadow No.1 (top letf) is a medium brown with warm undertones, fine gold shimmer and a satin finish. It has a good color payoff, intense pigment and adheres well onto the lid. The swatches were taken without an eyeshadow primer and the colors are true to the pan. It has a super smooth, silky mild texture without any dryness to it. Applies well, adheres well, no fall-out during the application and it’s easily blendable. I had around 7 hours wear with this formula before I noticed fading signs.

Eyeshadow No.2 (top right) is a light golden-champagne with a touch of peach and warm undertones and a pearl-metallic finish. It has a great color payoff, pigmented and absolutely wonderful to work with. The texture is soft, fine and smooth, just a pleasure to swatch it and apply it. It doesn’t feel powdery or dry at all, applies well onto the skin, blends easily and has no fall out. The color is beautiful and reflects a sweet, light warm-champagne color. I use it as a highlighter as well and performs beautifully. I had around 8 hours wear before I noticed signs of fading.

Eyeshadow No.3 (bottom right) is a dark, black coffee-brown with a matte finish. It has a good color payoff, being opaque on the lid. The texture is so smooth and velvety, feels incredibly soft to the touch. It does kick off a bit of excess powder when I swatch it or apply it on the lid. It tends to sheer out a bit more when blended but I prefer to pat it on the lid and just blend the edges. I think is the only shade in the quad that didn’t performed excellent. It does work well for a matte shade (but not perfect), is really intense and opaque. I had a bit over 7 hours wear.

Eyeshadow No.4 (bottom left) is a light-medium warm brown with a matte finish. Is the perfect transition color, quite close to my skin tone. It has a good color payoff, blends easily and adheres well onto the skin. The texture is fine, the formula is very soft and velvelty. It doesn’t kick off any powder during the application, blends easily and has no fall out. Doesn’t seem dry at all and performs excellent. I had 8 hours wear before it slowly started to fade away.

Shame about the dark brown shade, and I do see from your swatch, what you mean. Overall I think it is a lovely little gem. It reminds me of some of the bareMinerals quads that came out several years ago.
A really gorgeous eye look too, Tavia.
I like the new way you have redone your blog. Your rating system is quite informative.

I still think is a great palette overall. The swatches describe the colors best. Thank you so much for the feedback. I wanted to introduce this new feature for a while now. I hope many more will find it useful for my reviews. 🙂
