Giorgio Armani Makeover at Selfridges

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

Giorgio Armani was one of the main brands on my wishlist that I wanted to pay a visit once I was in London. My entire Giorgio Armani experience started at Selfridges (video) when I was taking a closer look at their new Ecstasy Lacquer collection. I was approached by one of Giorgio Armani’s Face Designers as I also wanted to try their famous Luminous Silk Foundation so I was invited to try out their new products. I was expecting just a simple product testing, no more than 15 minutes but I received more than that. I had the pleasure to receive a full makeup experience from Thoa Tran, a famous makeup artist and Giorgio Armani International Face Designer. She was so nice to me, as she talked to me about all the Armani products I was interested in but also introducing me to the new ones without giving me for a second that feeling that I was forced to buy anything.

So, as she applied the products, starting from cleansing my face, moisturizing, primer and foundation she explained to me and described every product so being there for about an hour or so was for me like a private lesson about Armani makeup and skincare products.

I definitely got the Luminous Silk Foundation (36.50 for 30 ml / 1 fl oz) and the 506 Maharajah shade of Ecstasy Lacquer (£27.00) but I left Giorgio Armani’s counter with a new wishlist on my mind waiting to be completed on my next visit to London.

I’m so happy that I also got 4 mini samples of Armani Oil Gel, Face Wash, Master Primer and Face Serum and a deluxe sample of Ecstasy Lacquer in shade 402. Even before I started writing this article I removed my makeup using the Giorgio Armani Oil Gel and then I followed up with the Face Wash for a pure, deep cleansing and I’m already in love with these products.

When I was in London, my skin behaved differently so the skincare products I was using here in Romania were instantly not suited for my skin type. I found comfort in using Giorgio Armani Face Serum as it was so light on my skin but hydrating at the same time, without leaving my complexion looking oily.

I’ve been using the luminous silk foundation several times since I got back home in Romania and I just love the natural finish it gives me and the impression that I have no makeup on. It evens out my skin tone without covering too much, as it is indeed a light coverage that can easily be layered and build up to a medium coverage, still looking natural.

The Ecstasy Lacquer is by far one of my favorite liquid lip products as I knew I will be impressed by its long lasting formula since I first posted about it so at this point for me was only a matter of deciding upon a new color.

You will be seeing individual reviews and more photos about these products on my blog in the upcoming days.

I found that when I was in London a few years ago, that my skin became very dry and I had some breakouts of eczema. I think it was due to the very harsh water that they have there. So I am not surprised about how you found your skin to be coming from Romania. The Armani foundation is meant to be the best. I am so happy that the MUA spent so much time with you. What a professional she is.

She was indeed wonderful Genevieve! 🙂 My skin went through some changes since the first day I arrived in London. I don’t really like the climate there and neither does my skin and my hair. 🙁 It all went back to normal as soon as I arrived in Romania. 🙂 I must say I also lived in Siberia and I had no problems regarding my skin or hair but when the climate is more humid I always seem to have problems. 🙁
