La Mer Powder from Skincolor Collection – Review, Photos, Swatches & Makeup Photos

by Tavia

Hello my dears,

It’s been a while since I’ve done my preview on La Mer Powder so it’s definitely time for a review now. This Powder is one of the products included in La Mer Skincolor Collection which is a great collection when it comes to foundations, concealers and setting powders. It’s definitely worth checking it out because I’m honestly telling you guys you can find some great quality products in there.

The prices are high, I’m not going to lie to you but if you are looking for a great product, elegant packaging, visible results then you are looking for La Mer.

You know I’ve been reviewing quite a lot of La Mer skincare and makeup products lately so I really wanted to try their setting powder.

The packaging is amazing, very elegant, simple and stylish. The jar is very big ( I can barely hold it with one hand) so the product will last you a long long time. I’ve been using the Powder for a few months and I still have more than half of the jar.

La Mer Powder comes in a very big jar

Apply The Powder with the powder puff

After I opened the cap of the jar I found a powder puff laying on top. I couldn’t be more happy to find out this Powder comes with a powder puff included (not every setting powder does).

La Mer Powder comes with a powder puff

I actually love applying The Powder with the powder puff and not a brush because the puff really makes the powder to be fixed better onto your skin, by pressing it down and doesn’t pick up too much product. If you don’t want to have a lot of powder on your face and that heavy aspect that it’s better to go with the powder puff.

Some makeup artists prefer applying setting powder with a kabuki brush, but that is not always the best idea because the kabuki picks up a lot of product, it will be mostly blended over the rest of the makeup and it doesn’t give such a setting power like the powder puff does.  Anyway you can choose which ever option makes you comfortable but since La Mer Powder has a powder puff included you could try it to see the difference.

Price and Availability

You can buy it online from La Mer website for the price of $ 65.00 for 25 g of product.

La Mer Powder is available in 4 colors:

  • Translucent
  • Creme (my shade)
  • Neutral
  • Beige

You can also find The Powder available for sale at select Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman.

I know that it’s a pricey product, but you get a lot of product for these money and you can wear it for a long time.

Texture, Color, Results

After you take away the protection foil you see those little holes and if you shake it gently the powder will come though those little holes. I kind of dislike this and I would prefer to have another system for the powder to be released from the jar. Some powders have this system where you rotate the jar and the product is released in a small amount, then you can rotate it how many times you want to get more product. La Mer Powder unfortunately doesn’t have this so you might bring to the surface of the jar more product then you actually need sometimes.

La Mer Powder – protection foil

This finishing powder has a very light texture, and feel incredible light on my face after application, I have the feeling is not even there. Contains symmetrically shaped, uniquely coated particles, that magnetically attracts to the skin for a perfect fit. My skin can really breathe, and has a flawless look. I wear this product all the time after I apply my foundation, sets very smoothly on the skin, it’s soft and doesn’t look cakey at all. It has a translucent coverage and as you can see from the photo has a pearl finish but on the face it will look great.

La Mer Powder – blended

I choose to make a photo in one of the days where my skin was far from flawless ( I had a lots of breakouts and red spots on my face that day) just to show you how this Powder helps everything come together and smoothes everything out.

Wearing La Mer Powder

I will post the whole look with more details and photo later on.

My skin is oily but this Powder really helped preserved my makeup trough the day (My foundation was a great help also), I didn’t see any oiliness on my face after 4-5 hours  (like I usually saw) and I didn’t even replied more powder or any setting spray trough the day.

So, if you have any questions regarding this product please let me know.

I definitely recommend La Mer Powder although it’s an expensive product, you will notice the difference in your makeup quality.

I hope this review was helpful for you guys and you enjoyed the photos. I would like to hear from you!

hi, I just have two questions.

1. I hve dry skin and MUFE HD didn’t work for me. Is this product good for dry skin people?

2. I am NC42. So which shade will be apt? May I ask your skintone in MAC foundation please…
