Max Factor Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara for Summer 2012 – Info & Photos

by Tavia

Hi everyone!

Max Factor has launch quite a few mascaras this year. Even if we are talking about some mascara that were relaunched with a new packaging and improved texture or new ingredients or about completely new mascaras with a new formula I can definitely say it surely looks like in 2012 Max Factor is concentrating hard on mascaras.

Their new upcoming launch is focused on Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara which is expected to be released this summer. The new mascara promises to be a completely different one than every other mascara you’ve ever tried because it suppose to emphasize your natural eye color so you must choose your mascara according to your eye color.

I actually have all 4 colors of the Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara and I will do a preview post about them later on. Yesterday I even tested the one in Black Ruby for green eyes and I’m going to wear it again today. 🙂

Availability

Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara will be available at Max Factor counters from UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Philippines and Malaysia in summer 2012 (launch date differs from country to country).

Max Factor is launching Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara to offer women defined lashes, whilst subtly enhancing and brightening the natural eye colour.   The formula has delicate reflective particles that catch light and reflect it back into the eye as you move.

Typical coloured mascaras can be very bright and strong in colour making lashes the focus of a look instead of the eyes. Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara is a wax and water emulsion base that will glide along the lashes from root to tip providing definition and volume to the lashes.

Easy to apply, the mascara will give a defined lash look whilst subtly brightening and enhancing the natural eye colour by adding sparkle and dark tonal black colour to the lashes.

The shade range has been designed using colour theory, based on where the four main eye colours (Blue, Brown, Hazel and Green) sit within the colour spectrum. Depending upon where each sits, the design principle used subtly brightens and enhances the eye colour.

  • Blue Eyes are the lightest eye colour and contain the least melanin therefore we want to brighten and enhance the appearance of the blue colour; this is done by using an adjacent blue tone with the colour spectrum
  • Green eyes contain a medium amount of melanin, therefore we want to subtly brighten and enhance the green by complimenting it; this is done by using green’s contrasting colour of  red to compliment the green
  • Hazel eyes also contain a medium amount of melanin but they sit closer to the lightest part of the colour spectrum than green eyes, therefore we want to subtly brighten, enhance and compliment the colour. This is done by using the adjacent colour of gold to bring out the warmth in the eye
  • Brown eyes contain the most melanin and therefore sit at the darker edges of the colour spectrum, so we want to subtly brighten and lighten the eye; this is done by using silver to lighten

Color range:

  • Black Sapphire for Blue Eyes
  • Black Ruby for Green Eyes
  • Black Gold for Hazel Eyes
  • Black Pearl for Brown Eyes

The light reflecting particles in the Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara are extremely small. After application and when the mascara is dry, if you run your finger along your lashes you may feel slight unevenness.

The best way to apply the new mascara

Apply two coats of Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara to the top and bottom lashes. The light reflecting particles need to catch light in order to reflect back. Using an eye lash curler (before applying the mascara) may improve the results especially if you have very straight lashes, as it will lift the lashes helping to allow more light to hit the underside of the lashes.

Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara is ophthalmologically tested, fragrance free and suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

I love my Hypnose but from time to time I like to try out something else. We’re women…

Hi Carmen! They are not available yet…they will be in a few weeks/months depending on each country. I’m also in love with Lancome Hypnose/ Hypnose Drama…these were my favorite mascaras for years, but I also love L’Oreal Voluminous Black and some of Max Factor mascaras. 🙂
