Parisax Les Gourmandises – Preview & Swatches

by Tavia

Hello beauty!

Yesterday I told you about the meeting Parisax hosted for Romanian Beauty Bloggers where we got to see and swatch the latest Parisax makeup products. Except the fun part I had checking out all those goodies and the beautiful Parisax bags I also received Les Gourmandises Beaute des Levres et des Yeux. Les Gourmandises is a makeup coffret for eyes and lips featuring a total of 12 shades divided in 6 creamy eyeshadows and 6 creamy lip colors which can double also for a creamy cheek color.

The packaging is super cute, a transparent box of colorful “candy” makeup shades for lips, eyes & cheeks that promise to ruin your “diet”. 🙂 The packaging will sweep away of her feet any teenage girl, or even those who are into a girly girl pink style. Since the holidays are coming Les Gourmandises could be an ideal makeup gift for your young friends, cousins or relatives.

Les Gourmandises (75.00 Lei) contains 6 creme eyeshadows of 2 g each and 6 creme lip colors of 1.5 g.

I really  like most of the lip colors, they apply smooth and they have a subtle sheen and they feel moist, soft and non sticky on the lips. Some of the shades are semi opaque while others have a better pigmentation. The tricky part is trying to apply these on your lips because you will definitely need a lip brush, being more hygienic than to dip your finger directly. If you want to use them as creamy blushes then you will have to use your fingers.  This is a very colorful makeup set but once you will get over the pretty packaging you will see the products are not very easy to use, because you will need to carry a lip brush with you all the time you want to apply color.

The creamy shades are mostly pigmented and they would be great to be used as a colorful eyeshadow base and apply some matte or shimmery eyeshadows on top. As most creamy shades they are more probably to crease within a few hours but I will test them separately in the upcoming days and come back with more details in a future review post. What I noticed is that when I open them and left them like that for a few minutes until I made the photos and swatched them they started to melt and get water drops on the surface. After 10 minutes they were all so soft, watery and squishy which made me wonder how well my makeup will last on a hot summer day.

Another thing that I have noticed about the individual packaging is that after you open each “candy” is very difficult to try and close it back. Sometimes it takes more than just a cute packaging because after the euphoria of pink, bows and pretty designs goes away you will want your product to be useful and have a good quality. Another disturbing thing (at least for me) is that none of the shades have names so I would really like to know their names in case I like a color so much that I want to purchase it again once I hit the pan. Since this coffret lacks so many details I’m sure it’s meant to be used by young girls, teenagers or by someone who is just starting in makeup and they don’t give to much importance to these characteristics.
