Swiss Line Water Shock Comforting Emulsion Cleanser – Review

by Tavia

Hello lovelies!

Last month I had the pleasure of meeting Swiss line, a luxury anti-aging Swiss skincare brand that was brought in Romania by BeautySenses and also to be able to test some of their products. I’ve already given you a quick preview of Swiss line skincare products and collections so this article will be exclusively about Water Shock Comforting Emulsion Cleanser, a product that was part of my skincare routine for the entire month of August.

I received this product for testing and review purposes as a deluxe sample of 35 ml/ 1.1 oz and after one month of morning and evening use I still have more than half of bottle left. I admit I didn’t wore a full face makeup more than 3 times so I would probably almost emptied the bottle by now. The original packaging is a white 160 ml bottle with a pump which facilitates the application and makes it so practical and hygienic to use. I have a combination skin type which is also sensitive so I have to choose my skincare products carefully.

Swiss line Water Shock Comforting Emulsion Cleanser (210.00 Lei/ €45.00/ 61.20 CHF for 160 ml/ 5.4 fl oz) is a white rich and dewy emulsion that can be used to remove make-up from face and eyes. It has a rich and creamy texture that melts easily into the skin and gently removes any makeup or impurities off your face. All skin conditions may use this product except oily ones which can find the consistency a bit too rich.

I like to use water based makeup removers, oil based makeup removers (I love the Shu Uemura one) and while I’m in the shower I always keep close by a Balea Face Wash Gel (review & photos).  Water Shock Comforting Emulsion Cleanser can be easily rinsed-off with water or a tissue. It feels creamy, soft and smooth on the skin while it gently cleanse and decongests the skin, also regulating moisture balance. It leaves the skin pure, supple and soft to the touch.

I know more and more women these days are concerned with the product ingredients and its technology and they want to find out as many details as they can about a product before they purchase it. It is important to know what key ingredients each product has so I’ve made it all simple for you:

  • Alpine “Wild Water”: this skin-friendly water contains precious minerals like Calcium and Magnesium which strengthen and boost skin’s metabolism while cleansing it. The pure, clean Swiss Alpine ”Wild Water” is ideal for all skin types.
  • Watercress Extract: rich in Sulforaphane, Watercress extract helps to cleanse the skin while regulating moisture balance and producing a purified, glowing healthy complexion.
  • Grape Seed Oil: with its fine texture and a satiny finish, Grape Seed Oil is a good source of Linoleic acid, which helps to repair the cutaneous moisture barrier function. It also contains high levels of Vitamin E, which smoothe and soften the skin.
  • Baobab Tree Extracts: this resilient plant withstands the arid lands of Australia and Africa. It supplies the skin with moisturizing and regenerative reparative lipids. The mucilage from the leaves instantly soothes and comforts the skin.

I enjoyed testing this product for the past 30 days and I do believe it does a terrific job in removing heavy makeup while it transforms your complexion into a soft and smooth one just like the petals of a rose. I didn’t experience any irritations or dryness so it can be really used even those with sensitive skin. Being a combination skin type I tend to avoid rich creamy cleansers, emulsions or any makeup remover that has a milky texture as I find it to bee way to rich for me and I need to cleanse my face with water afterwards. Other than that I really recommend you to try this product if you have a normal or dry skin and you want to pamper yourself.

The product is on the expensive side I have to admit, but don’t forget that Swiss line is a serious competitor of La Prairie so we are talking luxury skincare brands. I find Swiss line products to be cheaper than La Prairie and I’m happy I have the chance to compare them as I’ve used La Prairie skincare products for years now.
