I quite got the taste for YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick formula, after I got me the Fuchsia (19) shade (review, swatches) two months ago, so recently I added YSL Le Rouge (01) to my high-end lipstick collection. A luxurious lipstick, a best selling shade, that became the ultimate weapon for uncompromising seduction.

YSL Le Rouge (01) Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick ($36.00 / £26.00 for 3.8 g / 3.8 ml) is a blood red orange with warm undertones and a satin finish. It has a good color payoff, delivering a semi-opaque to opaque coverage on the lips.
YSL Le Rouge (01) is a permanent shade in the YSL lipstick range, an edgy and bold color that will attract attention right away. It has a creamy consistency with a lightweight, comfortable feeling without being too slippery. It glides effortlessly across the lips without tugging and I felt it lightly to moderately moisturizing. Even if the consistency is creamy the texture is a little bit thinner.
I distinguished a fruity, floral scent with no discernible taste to me.
You know I’m not a fan of red lips, when though I’ve been said the color suits me well, but is something about this shade that will go with any skin tone. It adds quite an elegant, glamorous and bold look to my makeup so I like to keep my eye makeup as simple as possible (or with a cat eye, fine black liner, edgy eyeliner crease) when I’m wearing this color.
I had about 5 hours wear with this formula and it kept my lips quite hydrating, while the color didn’t settle into lip lines and didn’t bleed or slide around. It left a bit of a stain behind, even color, so it was quite OK not to have the entire color faded completely from my lips.
The golden mirror-like lipstick case brings that elegant and luxurious air to this product. I got this product in a deluxe sample size along with Lancome Grandiose Mascara and a dose of YSL Black Opium (review, photos) as I told you in a previous article. So I find it to be quite ideal to carry around in an elegant pouch or a small purse, and even travel friendly if you want to take it with you in a short trip.

Well, it’s a classy pure red, and even though you know me always afraid of wearing a red lip, I must admit a color like this one is a must in every woman’s makeup kit. 🙂
