Hello sweeties!

If you are searching for the perfect combination of earthy tones, taupe, browns and beiges you might wanna take a look at the new Guerlain Les Cendres Eyeshadow Palette. Recently launched as part of Guerlain Bloom of Rose Fall 2015 Collection (info, photos) this Ecrin 4 Couleurs palette has just the right shades for me and you’ll be seeing me using it in my upcoming fall 2015 makeup tutorials.

Guerlain #19 Les Cendres Eyeshadow Palette ($65.00 / 284.00 Lei for 7.2 g / 0.25 oz.) is a limited edition quadra eyeshadow in earthy tone shades with matte and satin finishes. I noticed that Guerlain has improved the formula of its Ecrin 4 Couleurs eyeshadows as Les Cendres has a better formula than Guerlain Les Precieux Eyeshadow Palette (review, swatches)

Les Cendres #1 is a bright, luminous golden-peachy-beige with warm undertones and a subtle frost finish. It has a rich color payoff, adheres well on the skin (with and without a primer) without any fall-out during the application and it’s easily blendable. I felt the formula being just a little bit but it’s overall a good shade. It crease during the wear and it lasted on me for about 7 hours before it started to fade easily.

Les Cendres #2 is a warm medium rosy-brown with a matte finish. It has a good color payoff, it blends and applies well, adheres well on the skin. The formula felt smooth and silky to the touch and it’s easily buildable from medium to almost an opaque color coverage. I would definitely wear this shade on a daily basis, applied all over the lid for a nude, casual or office appropriate makeup look. I had 7 hours wear with this formula before I noticed the color sheering out.

Les Cendres #3 is warm medium-dark brown with a matte finish. The texture is just as silky, smooth and easily blendable as the previous shade. It applies easily, adheres well on the lid, without any fall-out or creasing. It delivers a fairly good color payoff with a semi-opaque coverage. I would definitely see this shade applied in the crease or on the outer corner of the lid. I had the same 7 hours wear with this formula just like I had with the previous two shades.

Les Cendres #4 is a dark brown with a matte finish. This is the darkest shade of the palette, great to be used on the outer corner of the eye or smudged under the lower lash line and it would definitely look amazing used in a smokey eye look. It has a semi-sheer color coverage at first, buildable up to a more opaque color after several layers. The texture feels soft but somehow it’s not just as good as shades #3 or #4. It adheres well on the skin without creasing or fall-out during the application. This shade also lasted 7 hours on me.

I love some of the colours – I thought number 4 looked a little olive to me. The gold is beautiful though. Some of Guerlain’s offerings lately haven’t been stellar.
