Max Factor Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara Review, Swatch, Photos

by Tavia

Hello pretties!

I got Max Factor Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara quite a few months ago, but since I already had a few mascaras opened at the time I didn’t get to use it until last month. I know how famous Max Factor is when it comes to mascaras and I had almost every one of their editions so I’m always interested in trying out a new one. When it comes to Max Factor mascaras my decision is simple…either I love it and it quickly becomes one of my favorite drugstores mascaras or I just find that it is an average mascara. After using Max Factor Velvet Volume for a couple of weeks I come and share with you a detailed review along with some before and after photos so you can see the results for yourselves.

Max Factor Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara (£11.99 / €12.00 / 70.00 Lei for 13 ml) is available in two shades, Brown and Black. I’m a blonde who likes to have very dark black lashes so I choose the Black shade, even though for us blondes the brown shade is more recommended as it gives as a softer look.

As the name itself says, this is a volumising mascara, meant to ad volume to your lashes and give you that beautiful and rich false lash effect. Right from the first coat my lashes were covered in a dark black color, rich and very pigmented so if you are looking for a more natural look you should definitely reach out for the Brown shade instead.

In the photos bellow I’m wearing two coats of Max Factor Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara so you can easily see the difference between my natural lashes and the final effect that this mascara creates. It gives me more volumised, darker and fuller lashes without making them thicker or creating that spider-lashes effect. Even though sometimes I’m applying up to 3 coats of mascara, my lashes feel soft and lightweight.

The formula is a bit thicker but it still feels lightweight when applied on the lashes with easily buildable volume. The wand has a medium size so it’s suitable even for those with smaller eyes. It has anti-clump bristles which coats and separate lashes evenly, giving definition to your lashes. It does manage to curl them but just a little bit, as this mascara is more about volume and definition.

I just love that while adding a dramatic volumising effect and makes your lashes pitch black it still manages to make your lashes look very natural, like they were meant to be like this.  This mascara it’s smudge and flake proof and lasts for morning till evening, without the color fading or loosing the volume in your lashes.

I absolutely love this mascara (I’m actually wearing it right now in combination with a pink and black eye makeup look) and I would definitely purchase it again and I’m also willing to try out the brown shade next.
