Today I want to invite you to take a look at Senna Emerald Glow Eye Color, a beautiful shade which was released as part of Senna Summer 2013 Sunglow Collection (info & swatches). When I received this shade from the PR I was a bit skeptical as I’m not into greens that much and not every green shade looks good on me.
Senna Emerald Glow Eye Color ($18.00 for 2 g/ 0.07 oz) is officially described as a jeweled green but I see it more like a light warm green with an yellow base, soft shimmer and light reflecting finish. The color is easily buildable and you can get a deeper and opaque color coverage by layering it on top of a good eyeshadow primer. Emerald applies smooth and soft without creasing or fallout. As I have a light complexion and green eyes I like to apply Emerald Glow Eye Color dry for a subtle color touch but if you want a more intense and pigmented green this color can be also used wet. I like the glossy finish a lot especially as the subtle green is reflected beautifully on a sunny day.
The texture is smooth, not dry and very easy to work with or to blend it with other eyeshadows. I also tried applying Emerald eyeshadow on top of a green base and the color looks even more pigmented and intense but without being too much. I had about 8 hours wear without fading or creasing but after 10 hours it was time for a little retouch.
