Today I’ll be reviewing Senna Sunstone Lip Lacquer, one of my summery lip colors that’s been on my lips quite a lot for the past few weeks. The lip lacquer in Sunstone was released in June as part of Senna Summer 2013 Sunglow Collection (swatches & photos).
Senna Sunstone Lip Lacquer ( $20.00 for 0.14 fl oz/ 4.28 ml) is described as a sparkling golden amber but is a looks more like a sheer super glossy medium amber shade infused with lots of gold shimmer. Even though it has a sheer coverage the sparkling gold particles will give your lips a touch of glamour, not to mention that incredible high shine. Sunstone is a color that will look good on any skin tone and is perfect to be worn during the day but it can also bring to life, enhance and change the appearance of any lipstick shade due to its sparkling gold shimmer and super glossy finish.
It applies smoothly on the lips and has a delicate scent of vanilla. The formula is creamy, glides easily and evenly on the lips, while protecting and moisturizing the lips due to its ingredients: Shea Butter, Grape Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil and Mango Seed Butter infused with mega vitamins. The consistency is not very light but it feels comfortable on the lips, it doesn’t settle into lip lines or dry them out. When I first applied this lip lacquer I felt a tingling effect in my lips but only for a couple of seconds.
Sunstone lip lacquer is a long lasting color that feels just a bit sticky on the lips but just enough to make the shade last longer without giving you any discomfort. Senna’s lip lacquers are different and don’t have that heavy sticky consistency like MAC Dazzleglasses or Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Glosses so if you can bear just a bit of its formula you will get about 4 to 6 hours wear.
